Lucia’s Simple Humuus
Ingredients
- 15 oz garbanzos 1 can, drained, but set liquid aside for use below (organic preferred)
OR
- 2 cups cooked garbanzos plus liquid
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- ⅓ cup tahini sesame seed butter – often in middle eastern section of grocery
- 2 cloves fresh garlic
- 1 tsp. salt
- ½ cup liquid from canned garbanzos.
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in blender.
- Blend at high speed until smooth.
- Serve chilled.
- Keeps in refrigerator for up to a week. Can be frozen.
Notes
-Add 1⁄2 cup of roasted red bell pepper.
-Thin with a little more garbanzo bean juice and use as a dressing on salad.
