Pantry Staples
Must Have
- At least 3 kinds of dry or canned beans — lentils, pinto beans, black beans
- These are usually available at your local supermarket, organic varieties at health food stores but sometimes Walmart as well
- Salt (Himalayan pink, fine, or Celtic sea salt are my favorites)
- Onion — fresh, granulated, and dry minced
- Garlic — fresh, granulated (not powdered)
- Coconut oil, Avocado, or extra virgin olive oil spray
- Tomatoes — canned, diced
- Long grain brown rice — basmati has a nice flavor
- 2 other kinds of intact grains (millet, quinoa, oat groats, wheat berries, whole barley, etc.)
- Raw walnuts
- Raw sunflower seeds
- Raw almonds
- Pure vanilla extract
I Recommend
- Rolled oats (old fashioned)
- Split peas, dry
- Raw cashews
- Raw sesame seeds
- Nutritional yeast flakes
- Raisins
- Dates
- Date sugar (dried, ground whole dates)
- Italian seasoning herb mix
- Dry basil
- Dry sage
- Dry marjoram
- Dry oregano
- Coriander
- Cumin, ground
- Turmeric
Nice to Have
- Maple syrup (the real thing, please!)
- Raw honey for very occasional use
- Almond extract
- Rosemary
- Thyme
Kitchen Equipment
High Priority
- Blender (almost any kind will do — Vitamix is my favorite though!)
- Set of sharp basic knives — vegetable knife, paring knife, large chef knife
- Cutting board or surface
- Heavy sauce pan
- Good quality non-stick medium-to-large fry pan or 3″ deep straight-sided pan
- Hand tools (vegetable peeler, silicone utensils and spatulas, can opener)

- Crockpot
- Large mixing bowls
Nice to Have
- Pressure cooker or Instant Pot
- Rice cooker
- Waffle iron
